When to choose Opteo
- You look after many accounts. At $50,000 of monthly spend, Opteo's Professional plan is $249 for 25 accounts and Goldbeater's Starter is $249 for 3 accounts. At $250,000, Opteo's Agency plan is $499 for 75 accounts, and Goldbeater's Growth is $649 for 12 accounts.
- You want to hear about a problem the day it starts. Opteo refreshes account data every 6 to 24 hours, depending on the plan, and sends budget and performance alerts, to Slack if you like. Goldbeater reviews the account once a week.
- You want fixes you can act on in a spare minute. Opteo sorts more than 40 kinds of Improvement by priority and statistical confidence, shows the reasoning behind each, and many go live with a single click.
- You send clients branded reports. Opteo builds Google Ads reports in your own branding and colors. Goldbeater shares a conversation by link or as a PDF, and doesn't build client reports.
- You want longer to decide, and a way out. Opteo's trial is 14 days to Goldbeater's 7, and Opteo offers to refund your most recent invoice if you're dissatisfied. Goldbeater's fees aren't refundable, except at our discretion.
- You also run Microsoft, Meta, TikTok or LinkedIn ads. A new version of Opteo covering all five platforms is in early access. Goldbeater covers Google Ads only.
When to choose Goldbeater
- You want the week's analysis done before you open the account. Goldbeater runs the same 24 checks every week, then its agent looks into what they turned up the way an analyst would, writing its own queries against the live account and showing you every one.
- You want one picture of the account, ranked. A review ends in one list of findings, each with its evidence, and with an estimate of what it costs a month where the problem costs money, so you start with the most expensive.
- You want a way back from every change. Goldbeater writes the undo before it sends a change, reads the change back afterwards, and refuses any change to a campaign you've guarded, whoever approves it.
How the two approaches differ
Opteo works as a steady feed. It monitors the account continuously, and when it finds a statistically significant pattern it suggests an Improvement: pause this keyword, exclude that location, adjust this bid. You review it and push it live. The work arrives in small pieces, as often as the data refreshes.
Goldbeater works as a weekly review. Once a week it reads the live account and runs the same 24 checks the same way, so a new finding means something in the account changed. Then its agent follows up on what the checks found, the way an analyst would, and the review ends in one list of findings and one change set.
Both leave the decision with you. The difference is the size of the unit: Opteo hands you a fix at a time, and Goldbeater hands you the week's read of the account and the changes that follow from it.
Using both, or switching
The two can run on the same account. Each connects through your Google sign-in, and a change made through either shows in the account's change history, so neither hides its work from the other. A fair way to compare them is to run Goldbeater's 7-day trial on an account Opteo already watches, and read what each found that week.
Questions
What does each cost? At $50,000 a month in ad spend, Opteo is $249 and Goldbeater is $249. At $250,000, Opteo is $499 and Goldbeater $649. Above $250,000, Opteo quotes a price; Goldbeater lists $1,290 up to $1,000,000. Opteo counts more accounts at each step.
Does Opteo ever change an account on its own? Only if you switch on its budget protection, which pauses campaigns before a monthly budget is overspent and turns them back on the first day of the next month. Opteo alerts you first and lets you cancel the pause. Every Improvement is pushed by a person.
Do both work with manager (MCC) accounts? Yes. Opteo connects any mix of manager and single accounts. In Goldbeater, each client account you switch on keeps its own history and counts toward your plan's accounts.
